The judge violated the prohibitions against testifying voluntarily as a character witness and lent the prestige of judicial office to advance the private interests of others in doing so, when she voluntarily provided affidavit testimony in a defamation lawsuit characterizing one of the plaintiffs as a “bully” and his behavior towards her as “bullying and extortion.” [Violation of Canon 2B of the Texas Code of Judicial Conduct.] Private Warning of an Appellate Justice.
