The judge failed to comply with the law and demonstrated a lack of professional competence in the law when the judge visited a mobile home park and spoke to its tenants while the misdemeanor cases against the landlord were pending in the court. The Commission concluded the judge's actions amounted to her performing her own independent investigation of the merits of the pending cases outside the presences of the parties and without their knowledge or consent.
