The judge allowed the victim in three underlying cases that arose from the same criminal episode to make a victim allocution statement in one of those cases prior to passing sentence in the other two cases, and thereafter rejected the State's sentencing recommendation on the latter cases and imposed the sentence that had been requested by the victim in the allocution statement. In so doing, the judge failed to comply with the law and to maintain professional competence in the law, conveyed or permitted another to convey they were in a special position to influence the judge, and failed to perform judicial duties without bias or prejudice.
