The judge ordered a criminal defendant to remain incarcerated without bond prior to his trial after sua sponte finding that his surety bond was insufficient. The judge further engaged in conduct that caused at least two jurors to believe that she had a disqualifying bias or prejudice against the criminal defendant and his attorney.
