The judge’s son-in-law and the son-in-law’s acquaintance approached the judge about filing criminal charges against a person who allegedly assaulted the son-in-law and the acquaintance in the same incident. The judge accepted criminal charges from the acquaintance only, issued an arrest warrant for the person who allegedly assaulted him and recommended an appearance bond in charges arising from an altercation in which his son-in-law participated.
